This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Let our kids touch and feel science! Most of our kids are learning English as their second language and hands on learning is most effective. Most of the learning in our science is from the books we read. It is very one dimensional and difficult for the students to grasp system concepts.

The majority of my students come from homes that are at or below the poverty line.

The free lunch program may be the only meal of the day for some of my kids. They have very few if any educational resources in the home. Learning about the world primarily takes place in the classroom.

My Project

The Human Torso Model will bring Life Science alive! To have a three-dimensional model to explain the circulatory system,digestive system,respiratory system, and excretory system will mean a greater understanding about life and how it is sustained. Imagine a kid taking apart the digestive track so he can really visualize where that hamburger he at for lunch goes!

Hands on learning is the most effective way for my kinesthetic learners.

When they can see it and touch it, they tend to understand it much better. Having these models I believe will make all the difference in my students achieving hire test scores in this area of life science.
