My students need books for making journals in reading, math, and social studies. These books include foldables and graphic organizers that students can use in journals.
Our school's motto is "Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader". We strive to teach all of our students that their voice makes a difference in our world. What our students learn today will stay with them throughout their lives.
My K-5th grade Title I public school is in a rural area located a few miles from the beautiful coast of NC.
We serve many English as a second language students. As in most rural communities jobs are scarce and money is tight. With state-wide district cuts we must make the most of our supplies. Our students are very aware of their coastal surroundings and work towards keeping their community environmentally clean for the abundant wildlife and natural resources. They recycle for the entire school weekly and want to learn about energy conservation. My students are a diverse blend of 4th and 5th grade AIG (Academically or Intelligently Gifted) students.
My Project
My students need an assortment of books with graphic organizers and manipulatives for their reading, math, and social studies journals. My students are very creative and passionate learners. They learn best with hands-on projects that integrate all of the academic subjects in our Common Core Curriculum. These books contain graphic organizers that students can duplicate in their journals. These journals are used throughout the year and show growth and progress in all areas. Students will use the graphic organizers in their journals as they read informational text and respond, as they explore math concepts and skills, and in social studies as they read about the world around them.
Please help my students organize their thoughts so they can process the information they read.
These books will be so helpful for my students as they complete ongoing journals in reading, math, and social studies. Thank you so much for considering this project.
