This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help my students excel in math with IXL. My eager and curious group of 2nd graders had high hopes of attending class in person this year only to find out that wouldn’t happen.
Since Monday, August 17, 2020, this amazing group of kids has shown up early to Zoom each day eager to learn, make friends, and have fun while doing it.
When asked what their favorite subject is the most common response is MATH! Helping them notice that math is everywhere has been a great joy. This year, we are limited to the experiences that we can have in our home to notice math. I am looking to support their learning/refining of essential math concepts.
My Project
After 19 years of teaching, I thought I had it down with a variety of resources to support student learning. Since we have come back to school this fall following 100% distance learning I have found myself trying to reinvent the wheel.
Help me bring digital learning centers and activities to bridge learning for my class of 2nd graders.
Since starting this fall, the only method of instruction I have been able to provide is direct instruction. This is wonderful to teach new concepts and ideas. However, in week six of distance learning my students are ready for hands-on activities. With your support, I can bring a variety of hands-on learning centers right to their computers.
