This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Augusto Boal once stated “Theatre is a form of knowledge; it should and can be a means of transforming a society. Theatre can help us build our future, rather than just waiting for it.” In our small K-8 school in Brooklyn, our students are embracing their new theatre program through various theatrical lens including acting, directing, playwrighting, dramaturgy, and technical theatre. Every student comes to my class eager to learn and challenge themselves. Through this newly introduced art form in the classroom the students are learning new aspects about themselves, the world, and diverse cultures around them.
My Project
These iPads will help digitalize the classroom experience for all of my middle school students. We will use these iPads to create our Digital Smart Scripts for our upcoming Digital Theatre Project. It will also help students record their scenes in class so that they can receive feedback and look back at their work.
These iPads will help upgrade their theatre class into the 21st century!
Students in technical theatre will not only be able to research set, costume, and lighting designs, but they will be able to use these iPads to create and update their own designs.
Bringing iPads into our Theatre Classroom will help enrich our students' experiences and enhance their talent and skill. My students and I appreciate your support towards their theatrical endeavors.
