Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are mainly low-income/high poverty students. Their families do to have the resources necessary to help their children or to get the supplies necessary for them to succeed. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. It's amazing to see their faces light up when I introduce new concepts. Our students are always eager to learn new and exciting concepts.
My Project
This NearPod access to remote materials will help engage my students while working from home. My students are in a blended class. One week one group of students go to the school building and one week they learn remotely. I am using as many free resources as I can find as well as creating using Google Slides and a lot of "borrowing" from the internet. NearPod is a great resource for remote learning. They include ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies material. This will help me engage my students and keep them focused and motivated. My population is made up of Alternate Assessment students which require so much enthusiasm to keep them engaged in an on-line environment. They have already been working remotely since March and I want to use fresh ideas and presentations in order to ensure they are all successful this new school year.
