My Students
This year, I am fortunate to have 23 students in my classroom, 14 boys and 9 girls. They are full of energy and work well with one another. They are writers, readers, scientists, and problem solvers who love reading most of all and love to work in learning centers doing hands-on activities.
My students this year are eager to learn.
I provide opportunities for them to learn in a variety of ways including traditional learning using books and learning using more of a blended approach which involves aspects of traditional learning and the use of technology. If I asked this group of students how they best like to learn, many would indicate their favorite way is by using technology for research or for practicing skills through different programs and apps.
My Project
We are fortunate to have a handful of Chromebooks in our classroom, but we are required to share with the other 2nd grade classes. Having 2 Chromebooks that will stay in our classroom will allow students to have more regular access to digital resources and will allow the teacher to regularly plan for students to use this useful technology.
Online applications enhance the learning we do in our classroom and keep the children engaged in and excited about learning.
With additional Chromebooks in our classroom, we can focus on collaborative online research projects and activities that will foster creativity and will enhance learning and extend the children's thinking!
