This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.

My classes consist of amazing students.

Many of my students are English Language Learners, receive resource services, or are dyslexic. They all have a think win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.

My Project

Students will be able to access ebooks from our school library and read them in class, or at home. Many students prefer reading digitally, because they don't have to carrying the weight of the physical books or remember to return them. By having a set of Kindle readers in class, this can help them bridge the gap in our "new normal" of asynchronous learning, virtual classes, and digital submissions. I am a teacher that is part of the at risk population, and I have some students who are also at-risk, and I want to be able to provide every precaution possible for all our safety.

Many of the students I work with are English Language Learners, and with these kindles, many of of my students are able to learn new words more quickly with the "Word-Wise" feature.

Word Wise is designed to make reading challenging books easier, especially for kids, by displaying short definitions above difficult words while reading.
