This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarten students in the South Bronx who come to school ready to learn and deserve endless resources, experiences, and opportunities.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and many come from families at lower income levels.
Many of my students come from challenging home environments and have limited resources at home. Despite the obstacles, my students come to school (in person or virtual) every day to a place where they are being molded into great students and learners.
My Project
This year will certainly be different. As of right now, students are going to be learning in a blended model. This means that students, broken into two cohorts, will come in-person on some days, and learn remotely on their off day. We have not decided how we can do guided reading during this time and these e-readers would help to virtually conduct guided reading, even in the classroom.
This product will allow my students to engage in guided reading on their reading level in the classroom and at home digitally.
