Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 5th-grade students are from East Harlem in New York City. They come from diverse backgrounds and learning levels. Some are English language learners and others have Individual Education Plans. Many of the students also qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
What I love about my students is their passion for learning, excitement to explore and their ability to have a positive outlook as they struggle and learn to overcome the impact COVID-19 has had on their families and community.
These students amaze and inspire me daily. They deserve equality and opportunity to continue to grow and achieve their dreams.
My Project
The materials offered on Teachers Pay Teachers will help plan and execute rigourous lessons for students regardless if they are learning from home or participating in hybrid learning in the classroom.
I use the ELA and math slides so that students have access to every lesson online.
Both students and their parents can see what the lessons of the day or the unit are in a creative, visual, informative way. The materials on Teachers Pay Teachers also make it possible to differentiate instruction and meet the many needs of the students.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
