My Students
I teach 4th Grade self contained at a Title I school in Mesquite ISD. My 19 students are a unique group of students with each one being an energetic and unique student. Each day is a new experience for all of us as we each grow as learners.
I never have to doubt that my students will find a way to put a smile on my face each and make me laugh each and every day.
My goal is to do the same for them and to motivate them to return each day eager to learn something new.
I am constantly trying to think of ways to challenge myself in a way to keep my students wanting to learn more about learning and themselves. The majority of my students thrive in situations where they can have hands-on and visual experiences in class. To benefit my students the most, I look for opportunities to present learning to them in a visual and hands-on way as well as auditory. I never get tired of the joy on my kids' faces when they are excited to learn something new. Learning each day should put a bright smile on their face!
My Project
In my classroom, I like to give my students as many opportunities as I can to let them take ownership of their learning. Sometimes, that means they get to choose what assignment they work on, where they work for the assignment, or how they want to complete a certain task whether that be on paper or on a computer.
One of my students' favorite things is when they get to choose where to work in my classroom.
I have some different flexible seating in the room, but would love to offer some more comfy spots where kids could take anywhere in the room to sit.
Along with working around the room, they often get to use technology to enhance their learning. I would love to have a class set of headphones that would make their learning with technology even better!
