My Students
I work with students from many different wards in DC. My students come from a variety of different economic and cultural backgrounds. My school serves a large African American population, as well as Latino population.
My students enjoy exploring many different aspects of education, as well as getting to learn more about themselves as individuals.
My Project
With students learning from home, we have moved from students being able to provide written answers, to having them submit everything online digitally. This has shown to not be developmentally appropriate and difficult for students.
Students have found that sharing what they know is difficult, because they just have a hard time using the mousepad or hearing the teacher.
By supplying students with headphones, students can stay focused on the teacher in different environments. By supplying computer mice, students can engage with various online tools, like drawing tools in math, to engage with learning and show their growth in math and reading.
