Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are loving, energetic, and range in age from 5-7. They all have different learning needs, and the tablets will allow learning to be fun and will help the students who are visual learners.
I work in a Title I school located in Queens.
The majority of my students live in low income households. My students represent diverse backgrounds, risk factors, and reflect a wide range of special needs. My classroom has a mixture of kindergarten and first grade students with special needs. My students' disabilities range from Autism to developmental delays and speech delays.
My Project
Special needs children learn in different ways. My students will use the tablets every day during center time and small group work activities. The tablets will allow students to be able to work independently and at their own pace.
Tablets will also serve as a great introduction on how to use technology for my kindergarten and first grade students.
This will help them get ready for the future.
Tablets will make learning more fun. They are interactive, engaging, and exciting for students. The students will use the tablets to work on the following: letter formation, reading, blending, number identification, addition, subtraction, science and social studies.
