This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have been making do with the basic necessities of school for the past three years. Over time, we have acquired new books, computers and other supplies that are needed for them to gain an education. It is adequate, but I would like to offer them the ability to push further than that.
My school places a great deal of importance on the arts and sciences as tools to help our students grow.
We offer courses that prepare both for college and careers. The skills they learn can be applied instantly to real world situations. Many of the projects in my class focus on scenarios that will help the school in some way, while simultaneously building on the skills of the students.
My Project
I teach Digital Multimedia which focuses on manipulating photos, video, audio and animations to create multimedia presentations. The skills the students learn in my class can be applied in board rooms, marketing firms, and even in their personal lives. Some of the products include presentations, brochures, fliers, music videos, and animations. These drawing tablets will be used mostly in the creation of animations. They will allow the students to more easily create drawings in the animation software. Right now, the students must use the computer mouse, which is more difficult and awkward than the natural feel of drawing with a pen or pencil.
These drawing tablets will help the students to reach their full potential in digital graphics.
They will also help to prepare the students for their futures, whether they continue on to college or enter the workforce. It will be a valuable experience for them and will greatly affect the quality of work they can produce.
