Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an exceptional group of learners who are educated in an Inclusion Model. They receive direct instruction in small groups inside and outside of the general education classroom daily.
My students follow a rigorous direct instruction schedule to improve their deficits in Reading and Math.
However, their homeroom classes follow laptop cart schedules that don't coincide with my students instructional schedules.
As a result, they often miss out on engaging computer based activities. Moreover, funding shortages within our district make it difficult to purchase additional chromebook laptops that my students can utilize during their direct instructional periods.
My Project
Research studies indicate that a blended model of instruction that incorporates technology and traditional teaching methods drastically improve student outcomes.
My students will receive the opportunity to enhance their understanding of math and science concepts through computer based programs during their direct instructional periods.
Such programs include games and simulations that cover an array of Math and Science concepts.
In fact, my students will benefit from interactive instructional designs that incorporate the use of computer based tools such as Google Classroom and Nearpod. The list of Educational apps and other computer based programs that can be utilized during direct instruction are limitless!
Ultimately, my students will gain the skills necessary to engage in today's "digital age of instruction".
