My Students

I am a fifth-grade ICT teacher in Queens, NY. ICT stands for "Integrated Co-Teaching," which means that my classroom consists of general education students, as well as students with special needs. I work alongside a special education teacher in order to provide instruction to students with and without disabilities. I am fortunate enough to work with spectacular children who are so full of spirit and excitement for learning. They work hard and are VERY eager to learn.

My students have varying learning needs, and each student requires different academic resources in order to attain grade-level standards.

I want to provide them with the items they need in order to help maximize their learning potential.

My Project

September 2021 started off a great school year. All of the students were back learning in person, and things were starting to feel somewhat normal again...until recently. We have been dealing with many student absences, quarantines, and remote learning for some. Presently, we have many students learning from home, trying to keep up with their classwork. This has brought many challenges. Having to (again) turn our teaching resources into digital content that is compatible with Google Classroom has been a great challenge. Units of study are not always compatible with Google Classroom, and there is no money in the budget to purchase necessary digital materials. On top of all that, our planning time has been cut due to systemwide staffing shortages.

Teachers Pay Teachers is a wonderful website with tons of digital content that is compatible with Google Classroom.

These resources are highly engaging and align with our teaching standards. With the help of these gift cards, I will be able to purchase highly engaging digital units of study, content, resources, worksheets, etc.
