Digital Cameras For Magnet High School Photography Class

My students need one Easyshare and one Fuji digital camera.

This project is fully funded

I am teaching a first time digital photography class at a small magnet high school in Oregon.

Due to budget concerns, our school only has a few elective classes and even fewer resources. This class is designed to empower low income at-risk high school students to express themselves in a positive manner through digital photography. Students will display their unique perspectives and creativity in the halls of our school, at local coffee shops and welcoming community spaces.

The first step was to ask the students what they were interested in. The answer was "photography, photography, photography". The second step was to convince the principal to create the class. The next step is to come up with enough cameras to get the class up and running. At this point in time we have (1) camera.

Students who have never had a positive interaction or pride in their community will soon be displaying their art in a space that will bring them closer to the community. I am very excited about your potential donation. Our students and community will benefit greatly.
