My students need a digital camera to create high quality pictures for projects and images for video documentaries.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. L.'s classroom raised $271
This project is fully funded
My Students
Let us show you! We can't get high quality pictures anymore out of our old digital camera. Trying to produce usable high quality video lessons, my students are importing grainy images of flowers, plants, and glaciers. My class backpacks into beautiful alpine areas - let us show you.
Highly motivated high school students sign up for an elective course called Classroom Without Walls.
We partner with government agencies to help wildlife monitoring of bighorn sheep by keeping a DNA database, we inventory local campsites and hiking trails, we prepare for an 8 day backpacking trip through long term projects that involve research papers, writing a lab to teach other students, learning how to camp, start a stove, and set up tents.
These students are getting out there and getting their hands dirty. We'll show you. You can check out some of our documentaries and video lessons and pictures taken from the cameras that belong to student's parents...not ours. Ours doesn't cut it anymore!
My Project
Students sign up for Classroom Without Walls to go backpacking, hiking, and create documentary films. A higher quality camera can help us document these trips and projects. They backpack into the Sawtooth Mountains, the Beartooths, and Windriver Range in Wyoming. We collect bighorn sheep scat and edit a DNA database to document local populations. We are creating a local natural history resource of the Bitterroot Valley. Students find connections to place and the land when they engage in activities and learning experiences that actually take place on the land.
We need to upgrade our camera to keep putting out quality projects.
Students have been working with Classroom Without Walls for almost 15 years and we need to step up our image quality.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
More than half of students from low‑income households
