Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an independent study teacher at a PBIS school, I am now educating a great group of enthusiastic fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students over Zoom. My students are excited about learning and love to share their ideas.

My students absolutely love digital BreakoutEDU educational games.

By having access to their game platform, my students are actively engaged in a wide variety of curriculum-based puzzles. However, our subscription has now expired and we are missing these games! This renewal subscription will give us access to over 600 games based on core subjects.

These games really strengthen my students' communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and team-building skills. While the puzzles are versatile and can be geared to any content area, our main focus is on language arts and math. My students have loved the games we have done so far this year, but they would like to continue working on them over Zoom on Fridays. This will give my students the opportunity to practice and show what they have learned during class.

In addition, I am requesting a Apple gift cards that my students have suggested in order to continue our positive behavior supports. I hold gift card giveaways once a week over Zoom to give students something to work for and look forward to.

We are a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) school, where students are encouraged to make good choices with positive rewards. I know they will love receiving these gift cards in the mail. Your help will have a tremendous impact on our class community. Having these various gift card giveaways encourages my students to attend Zoom classes daily and keep up with their daily assignments.
