My Students
In a digital world, shouldn't we be making digital art too?
I have all the K-2nd Graders in our town.
This means around 600 students are coming to my classroom for art each week. We are a Choice-Based Art classroom. The students are the artists and our classroom is their studio. We discuss and try a variety of art making processes. My students are learning independence and choice-making, as well as, art.
My Project
The iPad will be used with both my regular and special needs students. For students with fine motor difficulty or sensory needs the iPad will accommodate their learning style. My other students will be able to utilize the various applications to create anything from digital drawings to animated movies. The possibilities for the use of the iPad in the Art room are continuing to grow as new apps are being created everyday.
Art is a huge part of our everyday lives.
Whether we think about it or not. We are surrounded by visual imagery. It is more important now than ever before that children are exposed to a variety of art techniques. Digital art is one that fits perfectly into our digital world and allows for all students to express and share their ideas.
