it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Would your appreciation for Art be different had you had more hands-on resources available during your elementary school years? You may be the link to make this a reality for my first grade students.
I teach an awesome group of first grade students that are just discovering a sense of independence away from their parents.
They attend a Title I public school district and live in a high poverty community neighborhood. And, most of them qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. This, however, doesn't hinder their eagerness to learn and please their teacher by working hard at any and every thing presented to them.
My Project
All of the selected resources will be utilized to encourage art appreciation for my students since very few of them have had any kinds of experiences like these. With the technology equipment, such as, laptops, iPad, Kindle Fire, camera and memory cards, they will be able to take pictures, save/store and capture some of the many art beauties that surround them daily. The iPad covers will protect the iPad for lasting durability. The wireless mouse(s) will enhance the laptops. And, with the cricut cartridges and paper, we will be able to die-cut, label and display the art projects in our classroom and around the school to express our gratitude for art.
By donating to my project, you will provide a wealth of childhood experiences for a very deserving group of disadvantaged first grade students.
You will be the key to open many doors of "Art Appreciation" for children that have had very few experience. Lastly, with these resources, my students will be able to emphasize the everyday beauties through a eyes of young children.
