My Students
I love the passion that my students have. My school is one of the few free public magnet programs in the area and some of our students are bussed four hours daily to attend our wonderful facilities. No matter their home lives, they are dedicated to learning. My students are not only are caring, passionate, creatively wild souls but are willing to go the extra mile to help one another grow. As their only art teacher, I see it as a huge priority to help foster their creativity and emotional well being. These students often come from very difficult home lives and helping them to see the beauty in this world sometimes is a very daunting task. I want what is best for my children and I am very dedicated to showing them all the love there is to offer. Our school family is very calm, nurturing and is helping these children to thrive in a way that might not have been possible. When asking about these children, I love them for their passion and perseverance. I teach over 300 students and they are all unique, loving, joyous children.
My Project
These materials will help students learn how to digitally produce artwork as well as help the environment with the ability to sketch on a tablet versus the traditional paper. These students will excel by being able to create different animations and understand how art can be transformed into something that could be a career.
Many students have a thirst for graphic arts and animation and as a teacher I would love to cultivate that for them.
These students are not given the opportunity to work with technology and would really prosper given some exposure.
Along with the digital thirst, students are understanding more and more what it is to be able to share their artwork with one another. Different modules like VideoScribe will allow to them to communicate their ideas.
