I teach high school Drawing I and Art Appreciation in a suburban setting. Throughout the year, we cover a variety of drawing skills that are rooted in traditional methods. Student artists learn how to use media such as pencil, color pencil, pen and ink, painting and more. However, as we progress further into the digital age, it is becoming increasingly important to infuse technology and new skills into their learning.
My artists are incredibly creative and dedicated to learning, they deserve new and exciting opportunities to expand their knowledge and skillset.
iPads and Apple Pencils would give my artists the opportunity to try new things that are varied in risk taking but high in reward. This technology will also help engage student artists with new learning that is relevant to the ever evolving Art world. iPads and Apple Pencils are also frequently used in post-secondary learning and careers - becoming familiar with the technology will help them in future endeavors.
The implementation of technology is critical in digital age teaching and learning and would take my artist's skills to the next level.
