it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an amazing bunch of kids who come with a varied range of experiences. They are eager to learn, and I would love to help them reach their fullest potential by offering them a range of activities that will match their various learning styles
My school is filled with a diverse range of students who come from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
They love coming to school everyday, and are eager to get their hands on materials that will engage and challenge them. My school is located in Harlem, NYC.
My Project
My goal is to differentiate math instruction in such a way, that students will be able to learn, at their own pace, yet be challenged to reach and exceed the standards. In using bins and various math puzzles, I will be able to set up a system where children can explore mathematical concepts, in partnerships, using materials that are developmentally appropriate and above all, FUN! Not all students learn in the same way or at the same pace, so creating math centers where they can explore math concepts that are meaningful and thoughtful will make it easier for me to monitor their progress and at the same time give them the confidence to become independent learners. Having enough of a variety of material, such as place value and operations puzzles will also help differentiate these centers.
Having these resources will help differentiate learning in my classroom.
Students will be able to play math games, where they learn how to solve problems and learn math skills and concepts in a way that will match their needs.
