This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten to fifth-grade students are a part of a self-contained classroom. We have students from all cultures who learn in different ways. This classroom allows them to explore early on, the variety of ways they can learn. Our school is located in Chelsea, Manhattan, a lively and vibrant neighborhood. With students just as lively and vibrant, we want to make sure we are catering to their needs.
My students have big personalities, a trait that we want to continue to embrace to encourage confident and well-spoken community members.
The mission of our classroom is to instill a long love of learning by inspiring our students to collaborate and explore through their own creativity.
My Project
I'm asking for two teachers pay teachers gift cards, amounting in $200. With these I am hoping to purchase supportive math and phonics curriculums. My students are at different levels within Kindergarten through Grade 5 and are in need of specific grade instruction. While I am provided this through my school, my students would also benefit from other differentiated materials such as Fundations, and more guided math work.
These materials will be used at home, and in school!
I will be printing worksheets for remote-student pick-up, and using them in school as well. I will also be turning these materials into interactive worksheets for more engagement online.
