This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are smart, inquisitive, and caring. My project is a weekly movie club with popcorn, where the students discuss topics that affect them today, such as the role of science fiction in a modern society, women and minorities in positive role models, why society needs to believe in super heroes, the impact of musicians in our changing world, role reversals for men and women today, the sometimes harmful consequences of using social media body positivity, etc. The point is to help the students navigate the world through visual media. Having popcorn available will help my students feel like they are at a movie theater while giving them a snack they will appreciate.
