Despite what my students have been through in the pandemic, they are eager to learn and do their very best! Their resiliency is inspiring to me! Since most of my students are from economically disadvantaged homes, buying school supplies is difficult, and my students are in dire need of dictionaries. Some of my students have been virtual learners in the past and have not been exposed to dictionaries due to the pandemic.
These are necessities in our classroom, and my students need these valuable tools to help them with their daily work and on assessments.
In third grade, we discuss synonyms, antonyms, parts of speech, and definitions and I feel these picture dictionaries would help students successfully use guide words to find this information!
My project also includes flexible seating options will give them a fun area to practice their dictionary and social skills!
