Help me give my students the ability to be creative by drawing and expressing their feelings using the journals. They will also use the colored pencils and felt tip markers to make their drawing come alive.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This has been a very difficult year and my students need to know they are in safe, no judgement zone where they can relax and express themselves. My second graders love to learn. My students are wonderful ones, who need a lot of individual attention. They all have the capacity to take flight but have different learning styles. They are a mix of auditory and visual learners. I would like to foster their love of learning and keep my instruction fresh and creative. These second graders have a lot to contribute to the world and I tell them that the sky is the limit.
My Project
Since we have been back to school in person, I have been conducting a daily emotional check in with students using a spiral notebook. Having these journals will be awesome!
The students will have a place to write in a daily and express how they are feeling.
The journals will be used interactively between the students and myself.
The students will be able to draw and write applying the 2nd grade spelling, writing and vocabulary standards.
My students have a variety of learning needs, this will allow the students to have an outlet to express themselves no matter what what their disability is!
