My Students
Do you remember struggling to perfect your penmanship or to sit still while you read a boring book? Using engaging text and modeling clay, today's students can worry no more.
My students are the adults of tomorrow!
They are fueled by energy and driven by cool and interesting facts. These Oklahomans of tomorrow are from all over the globe and bring their uniqueness to every class. Each child is respected as an individual in our family of over 800.
My Project
Dioramas are an excellent infusion of art and literature. Wonderful texts lead children to visualize. But why just draw! This form of simple movement can change the behavior in your classroom. You can use the clay in a variety of ways; busy hands distract from busy voices.
Many of my learners are limited English speaking.
The artistic element will allow them to be active in the creating and conferencing aspect of the diorama, therefore increasing participation and speaking skills. Many of my learners, like me, have difficulties not distracting others. The clay helps each student to stay focused on the task at hand and decreases behavioral disruptions while improving fine motor skills.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
