My Project

My students are from low income areas of New York City. They are all D/deaf and/or Hard of Hearing.

Many children who are D/deaf and/or Hard of Hearing have severe language delays.

This is caused by missing the integral language years between birth and age five.

I work on giving my students the ability to build language, independence, pragmatics and vocabulary. With these learning materials my students will be able to begin bridging the gap in their language due to their hearing loss. The more access to language rich environments the more my students will be able to thrive.
