Device for Non-Verbal Students

Help me give my students who are in a special education class, a device to support communication.

My Project

I teach 12, special education students, most of whom are non-verbal. Many are on the autism spectrum. Currently, we use picture cues to support communication.

This iPad will contain downloaded apps which will support my students communicate their wants and needs.

Students who can clearly communicate have fewer discipline issues, become more independent and confident. This iPad will allow my students to communicate basic needs such as hunger, thirst and needing to use the restroom. Students can also use the device in social situations such as "Can I play with you?"
