Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a bilingual population of students so we spend a lot of time learning language and writing is a huge part of that learning process. My school is updating the writing curriculum but I needed to supplement the resources to make writing more fun. The tools that I have selected (tabletop writing center, double-sided magnetic write wipe mini boards, sequence write story tiles, etc) will give me some supports while teaching and give the students some materials to practice on while they are learning how to write. I want to set up a fun area for writing in the classroom so the students can practice on their own writing letters to friends and family members.
These supplies will help to expose and encourage my students to writing and develop their phonics skills at the same time.
