This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a first grade teacher who is going to be teaching kindergarten next year, I know how important it is to incorporate cooperative play to build independence and social skills.
Cooperative play helps kids hone their social skills as they figure out how to negotiate group dynamics. It helps them learn how to collaborate and compromise with others, recognize and respond to others' feelings, share, show affection, resolve conflicts, and adhere to the rules.
Learning these skills will allow students to become more independent, which will help them to focus on academic material and be more successful in their learning.
