My Students

Helping elementary students become confident readers and writers can be a challenging task. These are the skills we want to help them develop with Lego Story Starter kits.

Our elementary students are inquisitive by nature, and our school's Library Media Center recently created a Maker Space to help our students develop and explore their varied interests through hands-on activities and materials.

This Library Media Center learning space and the programs it offers have been well-received by our students, and have helped promote their discovery and learning through collaboration and experimentation.

My Project

The Lego Story Starter Kits will provide our students with an enriching and familiar “hands-on” way to enhance the writing process. With the familiar Lego bricks and mini-figures, our reluctant readers and writers can create a three-dimensional model of each of their story’s main events, and then use the Story Visualizer software to photograph, write, and publish their stories. The results are amazing, and give students the confidence they need to take their writing skills to the next level.

By adding Lego Story Starters to our Library Media Center's Maker Space, we will provide our students with an opportunity to help them become more confident readers and writers, and provide them with communication skills that will help them as they progress through their future years.
