This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need As students change, educators and administrators also need to change. Learning new things every day through professional development is paramount. I need a Surface Pro 3 so I can continue learning via the Internet.

I have been an educator for 7 years and have recently completed coursework for an educational leadership degree.

As an educator and soon to be administrator I always look for different ways to enhance my education through professional development. It is essential as an aspiring administrator I stay abreast of the latest educational initiatives. Some professional development opportunities I will take advantage of with my Surface Pro 3 are E-seminars and webcasts available through the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Specifically, "Effective math instruction" and "Can writing be the missing link for math understanding?" I will also utilize professional development through the Association for Supervision and Curriculum and Development (ASCD) such as, "Assessment and student success" and further my participation in School Leadership 2.0 a virtual learning community for teachers and administrators.

My Project

I'm requesting a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 to help enhance my teaching and to help me continue to improve upon my own learning. As we continue to see an increase in the use of technology in the classroom, it is more important than ever for educators to keep current with the latest professional development available on the Internet. With this Microsoft Surface Pro 3 I will be able to access professional development from many Internet providers to learn new math, literacy and science techniques to enhance my learning. Going away to conferences is a thing of the past. The expense and time away from our students outweigh the benefits we gain. The ability to access meaningful professional development through the Internet will help me become a better educator and continue to be a lifelong learner.

As an educator I need to continue learning how to teach math and literacy to all of my students. I believe a school administrator should be the best educator possible. My goal is to be the best educator I can be. This goal can be achieved through continued professional development. With your support I will have another resource to help me achieve this goal.
