Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have been an Autism teacher for the past 11 years. Last year, I was asked to start a new Autism program at our Elementary. I spent more than $5000 setting up my room last year but found that I needed to differentiate a bit more in order to meet the needs of all my students. This year I have kindergarten - 4th graders in my room. As you might imagine, they are all functioning and learning at their own pace and I want to make sure that I can meet all my students where they're at in order to set them up for success. My kinders and first graders will benefit from the various literacy and math games while providing the opportunity for my older students to practice and master certain skills. Just about all of my students enjoy using squishy balls to help regulate and all of them love art crafts, especially with scented markers. My students are really interested in STEM projects and have already built a robot...and dinosaurs are their absolute favorite animals right now. They are going to love digging in dinosaur eggs to find out what is inside.
