My Project
All of my students love basketball, and through this sport, they learn much more than just how to play the game. Basketball teaches them leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance. Skills that will help them succeed in school and in life. Having enough basketballs means every student gets the chance to participate fully, feel included, and enjoy the game they love.
To help them grow, I want to give my students what they truly need, simple things like water to keep them going, books to spark new ideas, and a way to step away from daily challenges.
The water dispenser will keep them hydrated during school and practices, helping them stay healthy, focused, and energized. Staying hydrated supports their energy and helps prevent injuries, so they can keep pushing themselves on and off the court.The storage bins will help us keep equipment organized, so we spend more time playing and learning, and less time searching for supplies. Dry erase markers will allow me to visually communicate plays and ideas, supporting students’ understanding and teamwork. I’ve read the books I’m requesting and would love to pass on the information in hopes that it inspires my students the way it did me. These books teach valuable lessons in leadership, confidence, and personal growth—helping my students thrive both on and off the court.
I’m using sport and wisdom as powerful tools to help these young athletes see that they deserve more and can achieve more than their current circumstances. My hope is that through basketball and the lessons these books provide, my students will be inspired to dream bigger, work harder, and never settle for less than they deserve.
