My students need a shelving unit to keep their clay projects safe between firings. They also need paint, brushes, paper, drawing pencils, colored pencils, and clay!
By the end of this school year I want to be confident that I gave every student the same opportunities in art class. Having up to 750 students a year, it is important to replenish our art materials! I truly believe that art can be a game changer in a students life, and that's why I teach!
My students come from a variety of different backgrounds.
Many come from low socioeconomic homes, and some come from families that are highly involved in the community and school athletics. There is a large community of new Americans, moving here from countries in Southeast Asia, and Africa. Our community very unique yet extremely tight knit. It is eye opening working in a school like mine!
My Project
I have 180 new students every 9 weeks, so replenishing art supplies is important so that each student gets the same experience all year! Some students have never worked with clay before, others have only used primary art supplies. It's my goal to expose students to excellent art materials!
My project will help to introduce content and experiential learning to students who thrive in a hands on visual learning environment.
I work hard to teach different subjects through art projects so that students can make connections throughout their day.
