it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working in a low-income community with limited resources, it can be difficult to receive classroom furniture that can help develop students' executive function skills. Wanting to give my upper elementary students more responsibility and organization skills, I would like them to be able to store their classroom supplies and technology in an age-appropriate space. These resources are seen at many higher-income schools, but it can be difficult to ask for funding for these types of projects. I would be using these to help my students safely store and charge their classroom Chromebooks, where they have a place that is where they can charge their computers. Chromebooks are currently stored in a cabinet and have to be charged during instructional time in the classroom. The cubbies would allow students to store their textbooks and activity books that often create bulk in their desks, leading to messy desks, that may not be from a lack of organization skills on their part. There just isn't enough room in their desks to store the curriculum and school materials that they need every day. Help me bring more structure and organization for my students, to help develop their executive function skills in the classroom!
