This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Prek students don’t have outdoor play spaces for their age and development. My current school did not have Prek until this school year. My three and four year old students are very active and they learn so much through play.
Since their little bodies are still growing, outdoor play (Gross Motor time) is essential in their daily lives.
With this caterpillar my students will be able to learn how to take turns, use their muscles to pull themselves up, problem solve when someone is crawling through at the same time, as well as use vocabulary words such as: through, on top, taking turns, waiting, crawl, slow, fast, antennas, and so much more.
This would be so amazing for my students because we are coming from a school that was closed last year. My students had to leave all the age appropriate outdoor play equipment and move to a school that did not have outdoor play areas or equipment for Prek.
