My Students

I have been delighted with the most ambitious, hardworking, and persistent kindergartners in the Pacific Northwest. This unique bunch came together to create our integrated kindergarten program. This program is comprised of students with special needs and typically developing peers working together to navigate the wonderful land of kindergarten.

We are a community of thoughtful, intentional, and inclusive citizens who value and appreciate the individual needs of each person that walks through our door.

We are accomplishing more than academics, we are striving for loving and intellectual community members.

I am so thankful for my class, they are ready and eager for any challenge I bring forth. They explore, create, and engage in every activity. The smiles and laughter make each day worth it. Watching them grow and learn has been the highlight of my year.

My Project

When our students start kindergarten they often have never held a pencil for more than a minute, used scissors, squeezed glue bottles, and picked up small items with their fingers. It is crucial for my class to have frequent opportunities to develop these skills.

Through interactive, hands-on art projects, kindergarteners gain exceptional fine motor skills without realizing it!

Some of my favorite activities you would help bring to my students are: ripping tissue paper to spell their name in multi-color, building animals out of pipe cleaners, creating delicate butterflies that use tiny pieces for detail. All of these activities allow kinders to strengthen their hand muscles, increase hand-eye coordination with their fingertips, increase their stamina for doing hard things, and more.

Art makes a classroom come alive with joy, laughter, and proud students!
