This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Everyone has the right to read and have equitable access to just right books. First grade is an important milestone in school. Students in first grade are knee deep in learning the mechanics of reading. They need decodable books that target their specific phonics skill. By giving students books on their phonics level, they are able to feel successful and engaged! It is so important students learn how to read by the end of first grade. Students need books to practice phonics skills they are learning so they can apply their learning. These decodable books will be used in my classroom daily for independent reading and small group instruction.

Mrs. Oestreich will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by January 22.
