Developing Authors: Looking for Inspiration and Supplies

My Project
It is my first year as a teacher and I am hoping to engage my beginner authors with plenty of supplies and good examples of different works created by a variety of authors. I hope to show different types of books written by a variety of influential writers. I am also hoping to use materials created by other teachers to help me throughout my first year.
I believe my students will benefit from seeing books with incredible artwork and prevalent content written by authors of all backgrounds as they create their own writing.
I have a few books already collected and hoping to add these to my student library.
Since it is my first year, I didn't know what I needed for supplies throughout the year. My students are in desperate need of markers. I felt like markers really fit in with this project as have desks double as whiteboards and they use their desk a lot in planning and creating their work.
Also, my students would love to have their own pencil sharpeners as sharpening pencils is very distracting and I have only certain times they are able to use the pencil sharpener. If they could have a quiet one at their desks they would be really excited. I just haven't been able to provide one for each of my students.
There are a couple of my students that while they are working really benefit from fidgets. I was hoping to have some as it really helps them focus as they are working.
