Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will help me build a library that offers culturally relevant reading books to my students. The books selected are leveled AR readers which will provide my students the challenge they need to read at their target levels and beyond. Students will be able to choose books that engage them and more books to select from will keep them reading.
With a larger classroom library, students will be more motivated to read many books.
With the availability of more books in our classroom, students will be able to read and learn about a greater variety of topics. More reading leads to higher achievement in comprehension, language, and writing skills.
Most of the students at our school do not have access to books in their homes. Therefore, it is important that our classroom library offers them an extensive opportunity to read in the classroom and in their homes. These leveled books are perfect to help them grow as readers which increases performance in other academic subjects!
