At our Title I school, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to provide my students with rich and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are resilient, creative, hardworking, and very active.
They like to set goals and help each other achieve them. They love to read. They thrive on lots of positive encouragement. From the minute I pick them up in the morning, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can control their experiences while in my classroom.
My Project
My second grade class will use these quality literature books to learn what having a growth mindset can do for them.
Seeing relatable characters that look like and act like my second grade students will help apply growth mindset to their lives!
Daily at the start of the year and then weekly after that, books that demonstrate growth mindset will be read in the classroom. After reading and discussing as a whole group, the books will be in the hands of my students.
Posters will be displayed and talked about frequently to remind my students to keep a growth mindset.
