Developing a Classroom of Thinkers with a Science Library!!
My students need a collection of reading material/resources that pertains to science.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. S.'s classroom raised $445
This project is fully funded
My college-bound 7th graders need a great science library. My students attend a high-need public charter school in Indiana. I teach classes with a full spectrum of learning levels.
My science scholars are inquisitive and love to ask questions about science. We have very limited resources when it comes to materials and their current science text-book is very outdated.
I have been very intentional when designing the curriculum and have built my lessons to be inquiry based. All of my students will attend college and my goal is to stimulate their interest in science to they can become great thinkers. These young scholars need great engaging resources to read so they can contribute their scientific thoughts to classroom discussions.
I have requested novels, enrichment material, research articles, as well as a "young oxford library of science" set. All the materials reach many of the science disciplines from earth science to technology in many professions. These materials will help engage students and be a valuable asset in the classroom when they need to research scientists, write a literature review of scientific articles, practice reading comprehension skills, and gain content knowledge. I plan to have each scholar do a science response once a week using information from their science library.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
