My Project
My goal as an occupational therapist is to improve my students' chances at equitable education. By providing a multisensory approach to learning, my students with identified sensory and learning differences can better interact and absorb educational material.
For many of these students, providing tactile activities, weight lap pillows, and other sensory inputs allows for greater development of self regulation skills.
I love to watch students gain a better understanding of their own sensory needs to allow them to be calm and engaged in class and in their life outside of school.
More than half of students from low‑income households
