Detroit Honors Technology Support

My Students

I teach in the inner city of Detroit with the most amazing group of students, some of whom I have looped up with since they were in the 4th grade (now entering 7th and 8th grade). I have been given the honor of creating an honors program at my school in Detroit. Over the past four years I have piloted the program to show how valuable such an offering could be to students who qualify. The goal of the program is eliminate any disadvantages unfairly placed on these students that is out of their control.

I teach them to control as much of their own situation as they can (attendance, grades, test scores, participation, behavior) and then I promise to eliminate the educational parts that are monetarily out of their reach.

That's where I need help from other like-minded people.

My Project

My classroom has been given the honor to be the pilot program for a 3D Imaging program. The first of its' kind in Michigan, being taught by a leader in the industry. He comes in once a week to work with the students and myself.

My students need state-of-the-art Chromebooks for the program, instead of our old used, half-broken ones.

Supporting these students with this technology will allow them to explore worlds they never knew existed and hopefully this will inspire some of them to join this incredible growing industry.
