Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My elementary students are just returning to full time in person instruction. They are back and ready to create! It is certainly interesting teaching and learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic, but they are rising to the challenge.

My students are a diverse group, they are a mix of general education students, special education students and English Language Learners.

In addition to learning about different mediums, mentor artists and art history, my students enjoy reading diverse books about a variety of artists and engaging in STEAM activities.

My students are eager to learn and I enjoy teaching, mentoring and shaping the minds of tomorrow's leaders.

My Project

Students in third, fourth and fifth grade will work collectively and use these stretched canvases to make a permanent display in our hallway.

The theme for our permanent display is "Destination Graduation." The display will focus on all the different subject areas and extracurriculars they can study in elementary school, middle and high school and the different paths that can be pursued after graduation.

The display is meant to encourage students to do their best in school by showing them all they have to look forward to in the future.
