My Project

I’m a proud teacher at a Title I school where my students enter each day eager to learn, despite the many challenges they face outside the classroom. My classroom is filled with bright, curious young minds who deserve a safe, comfortable, and organized space where they can focus, grow, and thrive.

Right now, the desks in our classroom are old, broken, and mismatched.

These desks have seen many years—and many students—but they are no longer meeting the needs of the learners who use them every day.

Having the right furniture may seem like a small detail, but it can make a big difference. When students are distracted by desks that squeak, shake, or don’t give them enough space in the classroom, it takes away from their ability to concentrate on learning. Properly sized, sturdy desks will help them maintain better posture, stay organized, and feel more ownership over their workspace.

New desks will create a learning environment that is more functional, inclusive, and supportive. With a fresh, uniform setup, our classroom will feel more welcoming and intentional. It will also allow me to arrange the space in ways that support collaboration and flexible learning stations—things that are essential in a first grade classroom where students learn best through movement and interaction.

Your support would mean more than just furniture—it would show my students that their learning environment matters and that they are worthy of the best we can give them. With new desks, students will be more comfortable, more focused, and more confident. They will walk into a room each day that reflects the respect and care we have for their education.
