Desk Privacy Shields to Help Prevent the Spread of COVID
Help me give my students some safety while sitting at their desks. We are unable to set each desk 6 feet apart or even 3 feet apart. These privacy shields will offer some form of protection against COVID.
My students are enthusiastic about learning, but this year, we have all been challenged with the effects of Covid-19. Our school district has chosen to offer two options to our students, in order to assist them with their own personal safety concerns. We are opening schools for an in-person option as well as offering a simultaneous live-streaming option for those who are choosing to remain home. This will allow students to stay safe at home, and also allow students who may wake up one day just not feeling well have the ability to stay home. They will be able to log into the live streaming link and continue learning without any gaps in instruction.
This may also be necessary to stay home if they become exposed to someone with COVID.
I am hoping to be able to keep all students safe in my classroom through the use of dividers. My hope is that my request will be fully funded, in order to effectively teach my students this year.
My Project
These shields will offer a form of protection for my students while sitting at their desks. It will allow an opportunity for a mask break during independent reading, as our desks are unable to be spaced far enough apart to allow for social distancing.
My hope is that by providing these shields, students will be able to take occasional mask breaks.
Students will be required to wear masks while in the classroom, and potentially have to wear them for over 6 hours. I would like to be able to keep them safe while offering them some time to take them off.
